Getting the shot!

You may not believe it but sometimes getting the shot isn't always as easy as it looks. I mean, after an eight-hour photo shoot getting the "High Five" shot for my editor's letter wasn't as easy as "1, 2, 3, high five!" You can't take yourself seriously all the time – so enjoy a giggle and watch this clip as Off the Couch! cover model Amy Barnes and I struggle to get that shot and have a lot of fun along the way!

  3. I have been a long time fan of Oxygen and I want to say I picked up the copy of Off the Couch and have to say Amy's story was the best one yet. I am sure I can speak for others.. we would love to see more clips like the one above.. her laugh is contagious...is there any way we can see more pictures of her from the photoshoot? Your other professional cover models are beautiful, but found this issue and Amy to be truly the best edition yet. Great job Oxygen!!!

  4. Thanks guys! I couldn’t wait to get back to you and let you know how much I appreciate all your responses to this special issue, “Off the Couch!”

Amy, so great to have you post, and believe me when I say it was truly inspiring to see you in action. (And please, ladies, stay posted to this blog because the web team put first-time model Amy and me through our paces at this shoot – lots more behind-the-scenes video to come!)

It was such a fun, motivating day for all of us! But what’s even more gratifying than watching Amy’s enthusiasm and vigor on set is knowing how much her story – and all the others in “Off the Couch!” – are resonating with readers. Keep it up! Let me know what you think and tell me about your favorite parts of the mag. Talk to you Friday…

  6. Hi - I am Amy's mom and can not tell you how proud of her I am. What I love about this shot is that it shows the Amy I know - fun, witty, and so beautiful (inside and out)!

  7. Picked up this one on Wednesday night after eating out and realized that's me... I am the women of the before photos in all the success stories and I want to be the woman who makes it through to the other side. I've seen Oxygen Mag on the shelves and thought I can never be that woman. After reading through Off the Couch in one evening - cover to cover, word for word, I feel I can. I'm ready to make that first step (once again!) and I know that through this magazine, the inspirations, and the support that will come... I can do IT. I hope a year or so down the road I too can be an inspiration to others but right now I need to be my own inspiration! 5'4" 194 and ready to get Off the Couch!

  8. I cannot thank you enough for the Off the Couch issue! This one will NEVER leave my magazine rack. I'm 30 lbs into my 100 lbs weigh removal journey and I look to Oxygen Magazine for constant inspiration. This issue is EXACTLY what I needed to get my butt in gear and stay motivated. Thank you so very much!

  9. I feel the way the rest of you with this addition. I love Oxygen and have been a faithful reader for years. This is the best one yet, and I think because so many of us can relate to Amy. She is real, she is stunning and absolutely hilarious! I know she has inspired me like nothing or no one else has. If she can stick with it for over 300lbs... we can all stick with it to lose our 100, 50, or 30lbs! What an amazing woman to come out on the other side and not give up!! Thanks Oxygen for introducing all of us to her.. it gives us all hope!
