Amazing or what?
Science writer Gary Taubes cited some interesting statistics in his new book Why We Get Fat And What To Do About It that's soon to be released. Fascinating, actually. Here's what he reports: The first year the Boston Marathon had more than 300 entrants was in 1964; in 2009, more than 26,000 people ran it. So I'm curious: Have you noticed more of your friends and family getting active recently? Or do you find many need more than a nudge to get off the couch? Just wondering....
I've noticed a lot of people trying to eat healthier and work out. I think America has just let itself go so much that people are now starting to see the effect it has.
